The social lecture hall and the campus small lecture hall work together. Use our expertise in professional research to create an undergraduate platform course on “Sports Services and Management for Special Populations” across the country, combining the practice of sports services with the practice of helping people with disabilities. Volunteers will practice the contents of classroom learning in special education schools, community assistance for the disabled, and sports competitions for persons with disabilities, and promote the integration of small classrooms on campuses specializing in learning and social lectures on disability services. In 2021, the branch team held an international forum on “College Sports Discipline Construction and Adapting to Sports Development in the New Era” to further expand the volunteers’ professional research horizons.
Sports exercise and rehabilitation medical treatment work together. The branch team created the “Qi Lerong Rong” fitness class project for the disabled elderly, designing aerobics, meridian tapping exercises, home fitness service courses and medical health monitoring to improve the health level of disabled middle-aged and elderly people. In the past eight years, 4,200 volunteers have been recruited, more than 320 “one-on-one” fitness teaching activities and more than 30 large-scale integration activities have been held regularly for people with disabilities, and 6,451 people with disabilities have been assisted in physical exercise. It has carried out more than 500 teachings, more than 10 Special Olympics integration school activities, and assisted 5,000 students with intellectual disabilities.
